Easter comes early at Saint Christina’s School

On Friday 8th April, the community at Saint Christina’s School celebrated the end of the spring term in style with an Easter Bonnet and Fancy Hat Parade to mark the Royal Wedding. The children looked resplendent in their handmade bonnets and colourful creations and the school hall was alive with spring colours and visual splendour.

This day also marked a great event for grandparents and special visitors who were invited to the celebrations and were taken on a school tour with the Year Six school leaders. A ‘substitute granny’ for a pupil in year one, noted that it was ‘an utterly enchanting morning.’ The bonnet parade, all the Easter decorations, the refreshments, the school tour and the musical concert of a repertoire of songs from the Year Six Easter Play, was wonderful. In addition, the Year 6 girls who conducted the school tours were complimented as ‘exceptional’ in their leadership.

The morning culminated in an Easter cake sale, led by highly motivated Year Four pupils and their parents, to benefit school development and playground projects. Congratulations to the girls in Year Four and to their parents for their highly successful cake sale - over £460 was raised in one hour of spirited, energetic sales! This event is in addition to many other charitable projects that children at Saint Christina’s School have organised over the past year to benefit orphaned children abroad, and the homeless in inner-city London.

Best wishes and a very happy Easter from all at Saint Christina’s School!
