At Saint Christina’s School we recognise that some children need extension work above and beyond the curriculum. Challenging tasks and activities are designed to offer opportunities for the most able pupils to extend themselves.
Once a child has been identified as Gifted and/or Talented our Learning Support and Extension team develop a programme of extension work. A Gifted and Talented programme may involve class activities, or one-to-one or small group tuition with the specialist teacher.
We offer a broad selection of extra-curricular clubs such as Chess, French, Poetry and Drama, Choir, Netball, Coding, Photography and Journalistic Writing in the Newspaper Club, catering for all interests and individual gifts and talents.
Children at Saint Christina’s enjoy visiting workshops from Barclay’s Bank, the Millennium Mathematics Project from the University of Cambridge and visits from well-known authors among other exciting events. We also participate in the annual General Knowledge Quiz Championship and the Primary Mathematics Challenge.
