On Wednesday 10th May, the School Senior Choir showcased their wonderful singing talents to kick-start a KS2 School Council assembly. The choir sang the School song with confidence and passion and showed the high standard of musical talent we have in School.
The theme of the School Council assembly was inspirational women. The girls had researched and presented beautifully, several life stories.
They talked about Ada Lovelace, a gifted mathematician, who is considered to have written instructions for the first computer program in the mid-1800s. They also talked about Emmeline Pankhurst and Muriel Matters, teaching the audience about the suffragette movement and the right to vote. This led on beautifully for a whole School song on British values and a discussion about the upcoming general election. We thank the girls for their hard work and enthusiasm for this assembly.
