At Saint Christina’s School we are very fortunate to have a fully-equipped, air-conditioned Information and Computer Technology (ICT) suite with the latest computer technology and programs. In addition, there is a computer in every classroom and interactive whiteboards to facilitate and enhance delivery of the curriculum.
From Nursery onwards every child has a weekly lesson in the ICT Suite and receives instruction from a specialist teacher. During their education at Saint Christina’s, children acquire skills such as word processing, publishing, touch typing and creating and using spreadsheets. Older children work on creating their own documents using Microsoft Word and Excel; they learn to use a database; they learn to present their research as PowerPoint presentations for subject-based projects, and much more. Children’s work can been seen on public display in classrooms and in the ICT suite.
For children’s enrichment and extension of the subject we have access to online media curriculum resources such as Espresso, Mathletics and Spellodrome.
Information and Computer Technology at Saint Christina’s School is a subject that is valued as being central to children’s current and future skills development.
