London Philharmonic Orchestra Concert
On Tuesday, Year 5 took off on a musical journey round the world. We headed off to the Royal Festival Hall to hear a concert given by the spectacular London Philharmonic Orchestra!
The concert was titled ‘All Aboard!” and featured music from countries the Orchestra had recently visited. We heard thrilling Spanish rhythmic compositions from Rimsky-Korsakov, dreamy and gorgeous music from Ravel, and Parisian themed melodies from the mighty American composer George Gershwin. The girls sat enthralled throughout and sang the audience participation song with great gusto!
The conductor was clearly having the time of his life, and we were all swept away by his enthusiasm. How fortunate we are to attend musical concerts of such high calibre! Afterwards we had our lunch outside the Hall overlooking the Thames – a rather enjoyable way to start one’s week!
