Last Friday Year 5 celebrated England’s patron saint, St. George, in their class Mass.
We found out that St George was born to a wealthy Christian noble family and when he grew up he became a soldier. The Emperor tried to make him deny his faith in Christ, but St George showed incredible courage and faith.
The flag of England comes from St George’s Cross and is used as part of the familiar Union Jack flag used in the UK.
We hope that everyone can be inspired by St George to show courage and faith, especially at difficult times in their lives.
Thank you to Year 5 for helping us to celebrate.
