On Wednesday in our first KS2 assembly of the year, our three house captains introduced themselves to their houses. Year 3 girls and new girls to the school received their house badges.
The girls then spent time in their houses to establish what they wanted to achieve this year and how they would achieve it. They had to come up with three words that will define them this year.
Saint Francis decided that they would be ‘Resilient’ ‘Caring’ and ‘Loyal’. Saint Cecilia came up with ‘Friendship’ ‘Super Listening’ and ‘Amazing Teamwork’ while Saint Joan of Arc decided that they will be ‘Respectful’, full of ‘Cooperation’ and good ‘teamwork’. It was wonderful to see all of the girls across KS2 work together in their houses and listen so attentively to their new house captains. I know that this year will be a huge success already!
The annual poetry competition was also launched and the poem was distributed to all girls. Exciting news was also announced informing the girls that the poet who wrote the poem that they will be performing (Rachel Rooney) has agreed to come and be the adjudicator of the event. The girls are very excited and already thinking of ways to perform the poem to a high standard.
I, like the girls, am very excited to see where the House Competition will take us this year.
