Sports at Saint Christina's

Saint Christina’s School embraces a competitive sporting ethos. We respect and balance our Catholic community values with a strong emphasis on good sportsmanship and sporting technique. Our positive, structured approach to sports skills development builds confident, proactive pupils with the physical prowess to match our stimulating academic curriculum.

The aims of our sports programme include:

  • to develop healthy routines to support academic excellence
  • to encourage participation in the sports curriculum and in extra-curricular activities
  • to nurture individual sporting talent and to build team skills
  • to encourage enjoyment, teamwork and fun.

Saint Christina’s School is proud to offer a variety of sports including Horse riding, Netball, Hockey, Swimming, Football, Athletics, Gymnastics and Rounders as our main sporting disciplines. Each term, children may select from a wide array of sporting clubs and activities. Our annual Swimming Gala, Cross-Country Competition at Primrose Hill and Sports Day at Regent’s Park are highlights of our annual sporting calendar. At Saint Christina’s School we believe that by offering our pupils a choice of sporting pursuits we enhance children’s sporting commitment.  Our philosophy is to encourage healthy participation in what our pupils enjoy doing.

Children at Saint Christina’s School enjoy applying their sporting skills in competitive game play through participating in weekly sports match fixtures with other IAPS schools. Our top teams regularly participate in inter-school tournament days. Our parents, pupils and staff are enthusiastic about our match performances and their cheering is delightfully infectious!

Members of the Sports staff at Saint Christina’s School are supported by an on-site team of sporting professionals who coach and mentor our pupils in focussed sports sessions, such as Multi-Sport. We care about our sporting performance and strive to learn new skills, improve our game play and most importantly, have fun.
