We had such a wonderful time at our Platinum Jubilee party and we were honoured to welcome some very special guests to join us. The children were very excited to all be together on the playground with their picnic blankets and were extremely surprised when Colonel Bagshaw, Sergeant Major Roper and Captain Freddie Howard-Keyes made an appearance!
All three of the soldiers were very involved in the Jubilee celebrations for Her Majesty the Queen and lead the procession. They were so kind to come and see the children and spend time talking to the children and answering lots of questions about their jobs and their uniform. They even allowed the children to try on their special hats and hold their swords!
The party continued with the most amazing array of cakes, scones, Eton mess and fruit made by Chef and his team. It wouldn’t be complete without some games such as pin the tail on the corgi, pin the diamond on the crown and of course dancing to the Macarena and YMCA!
Thank you so much to Colonel Jeremy Bagshaw, Sergeant Major Roper and Captain Freddie Howard-Keyes for visiting us and to Mrs Bagshaw helping to arrange the visit. Thank you to Chef and his team for making such fantastic food.
Thank you also to Mr and Mrs Gloag for making 50m worth of bunting to go around the playground. Thank you to Miss Georgia for helping to coordinate the event and thank you to all of the staff for their support.
It really was a spectacular afternoon and one that the children will remember forever!
