At Saint Christina’s music is a way of School life. Not only through class and instrumental lessons – but in every subject across the curriculum – music is used as an inspiring and engaging teaching tool. Pupils take part in numerous productions, assemblies, weekly Mass and liturgies that ensure music is the heartbeat of the School.

Saint Christina’s Choir

The Saint Christina’s School Choir is non-selective and is open to any Key Stage 2 child who wishes to join. The Choir performs at School functions such as the Summer Fayre and special Masses, as well as events in the wider community. Through exploring a varied repertoire, children develop their singing techniques whilst having a huge amount of fun along the way.

Saint Christina’s Orchestra

The Saint Christina’s School Orchestra is a non-selective ensemble open to children in Key Stage 2. Every effort is made to cater for the children’s wide range of musical abilities. The Orchestra has opportunities to play throughout the year and takes part in a bi-annual recording project with the Choir. By belonging to the Orchestra, children learn how to play as a group, which in turn develops their overall musicality.

Individual Tuition

Individual tuition is available in piano, violin, cello, guitar, recorder, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and singing. Lessons take place throughout the School day and a rotating timetable ensures children do not miss the same lessons each week.
