Saint Christina’s Parents’ Link was established in 1995 by a group of enthusiastic parents and has gone from strength to strength over the years of its existence. In its mission statement it declares that its purpose is to “provide parental support for social and sports activities as well as fundraising efforts” and it remains faithful to these aims today.
Our current Parents’ Link Committee consists of two Co-Chairs, Secretary, Treasurer, at least one parent representative from each class and a teacher representative. In addition, every parent is automatically a member of Parents' Link and are welcome and encouraged to participate in whatever formal or informal manner suits them.
Parents’ Link channels great enthusiasm into annual school fundraising events. Each year we co-ordinate and oversee many theme-based school events such as a Halloween Disco, a Valentine’s Disco, a Spring Fair, an annual Quiz Night for adults, a Summer Barbeque, a Christmas raffle for the homeless and we assist, when needed, at school sporting events. With the money we raise from these events we are able to provide the children at Saint Christina’s School with new school resources, from which all our children benefit.
Last year, the members of Parents’ Link worked together to raise enough money for a brand new playground for the school. Through our programme of annual events, some additional fundraising activities, and voluntary contributions, Parents' Link was able to raise enough money for the playground to be installed over the summer.
Saint Christina’s School provides a wonderful community feel for our children and parents and this is aided by all the tireless commitment of the dedicated members of Parents’ Link. Parents’ Link at Saint Christina’s School looks forward to another highly successful year of fundraising and of inviting new families into our school community- we welcome opportunities to meet new parents who quickly become new friends.
