Year 2 have continued their journey back to 1666 as they learn more about the Great Fire of London.
In History, the children explored the key events of the fire and worked carefully to put them into
chronological order. They then brought this learning into their English lessons, where they have been
using conjunctions, exploring different sentence types and beginning to organise their knowledge into
factual reports.

In Science, Year 2 have been investigating what happens to our bodies when we exercise. The children
explored how physical activity affects our heart rate and considered why our hearts beat faster when
we are active. They also discussed the important role exercise plays in keeping our bodies healthy.

In RE, the children explored the story of Noah and God’s promise to all living creatures. They reflected
on the wonderful world God has given us and thought carefully about our responsibility to care for it,
developing their understanding of what it means to be a good steward of creation.
