Friday 9th December

Year 5 children joined Year 6 for an exciting and truly inspiring creative writing workshop led by the award-winning author Katherine Rundell, hosted by the British Library. This fantastic opportunity gave pupils the chance to pick up brilliant tips for creative writing, discover where authors find their inspiration, and explore how maps and imagination can help shape the most memorable and adventurous stories.

The children were absolutely thrilled to hear their own questions read aloud and answered live by Katherine Rundell, making the experience feel extra special and personal. The session sparked huge enthusiasm for reading and writing, with pupils buzzing with ideas and eager to start crafting their own stories. It was a memorable experience that has inspired a real love of storytelling across both year groups.
